Small Pink Rubber Tree | Ficus Elastica Ruby

The Pink Rubber Tree is one of our favorite houseplants! This smaller plant has beautiful Ruby colored leaves with new growth showing more pink and lighter green shades. Hardy, gorgeous, and easy to take care of, the Pink Rubber Tree is an unique addition to any indoor space.

High Light: The Rubber Tree enjoys lots of bright, indirect sunlight with a couple of hours of direct sunlight. It will survive in medium light but in order for it to truly thrive and keep its beautiful variegation on its leaves, bright indirect sunlight is necessary.

 Water: Watering requirements for this plant depend on the season. During the growing season the plant needs to be kept moist, so watering every 5 to 7 days is ideal. During the dormant season the plant requires less water, so watering every 10 to 14 days is sufficient. Keep in mind that this plant is sensitive to overwatering and susceptible to root rot. When in doubt, less is more. Ficus elasticas do well when you let the soil dry out completely and then water thoroughly, soaking all the soil.  Good drainage of water is key to preventing root rot.
